Base coats, impregnants and non covering finishes for wood

San Marco offers a wide range of base coats, impregnating paints and non-hiding finishes for protecting and safeguarding wooden surfaces. Solvent-based and water-soluble paints are recommended for both interiors and exteriors. The solutions of our MARCONOL and UNIMARC wood lines meet the most diverse aesthetic and protection requirements, both on new and treated wood.

WATER- OR SOLVENT-BASED IMPREGNATING PAINTS
They are non film-forming protective paints, recommended for the superficial impregnation of wood. They are characterized by a high penetrating power and they hinder the action of particular atmospheric agents (e.g. in harsh climates) and difficult polluting conditions. Once applied, wood impregnating agents remain unaltered over time without cracking or peeling (that is the separation of the protective film from the background surface), despite the natural structural modifications and adjustments of the wood.

WATER- OR SOLVENT-BASED WAXED-EFFECT FINISHES
These finishes protect the wood by making it water-repellent. They also maintain the grain unaltered and give the background surface a satin effect without creating any film. The finish is microporous, which protects the background surface even in difficult environmental conditions.

WATER- AND SOLVENT-BASED GLOSS AND SATIN FINISHES
They are used for giving a gloss or slightly matt appearance to the wooden background surface without altering its color. The wood on which the finishes are applied is then protected by a film that shields it from abrasion and degradation. Gloss and satin finishes have optimal performance even in difficult climatic conditions, for example when applied on wood which is directly exposed to sunlight.
