SAN MARCO GROUP BEING AWARDED "INDOOR AIR COMFORT GOLD" CERTIFICATION
Marcon (VE), 28 January 2022 - San Marco Group, Italy's leading manufacturer of paints and varnishes for the professional building sector, is the first company in Italy to receive the prestigious Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold certification, which is only achieved if the products meet precise requirements for low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions, guaranteeing a healthy indoor environment.
It was awarded by the multinational Eurofins, which has implemented a reliable and effective system through in-company checks, annual tests and final certification; the aim is to guarantee the supply of certified low-emission products on an ongoing basis.
As many as nineteen products from the different brands were awarded the certification: for the San Marco brand, parent company of the San Marco Group and leader in the sector of paints and varnishes for professional construction, Unimarc Smalto Murale Opaco e Semilucido, Antartica, Silver Confort, Paeninsula Eggshell and Ultramatt, ColoreVivo, Sildomus Sana, and Maestro Plus and five specific products for the export market.
Considering the extremely strict and restrictive parameters on which it is based the Indoor Air Comfort Gold certification confirms the compliance of the products with the emission limits set by the major internationally-recognised voluntary certifications, as well as with EU specifications and the requirements for sustainable building certifications such as LEED, BREEAM international, BREEAM NOR, DGNB, Well Building and CAM Italian Building.
The Group is now Italy's sector leader in terms of coverage of certifications and regulations, confirming the consolidated value of sustainability for the company, which has already been committed to this issue with the publication of EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) since 2011, and with projects aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its logistics system, packaging and product formulation.
